ALDI Lacura Razor Blades Review – Triple Blade Disposable

My disposable 3 blade razor.

Here’s my personal review for the ALDI Lacura razor blades for men which I bought at my local ALDI store.

While I currently use a twin-blade razor from Lidl (read my review here) I recently found the last ALDI Lacura razor blade that I had bought last year and had forgotten to use.

ALDI is a German supermarket chain founded by Karl and Theo Albrecht, two brothers who took over the family business from their mother and built it into a German supermarket leader. They divided Germany into two segments – ALDI Nord (North Germany) and ALDI SÜD (South Germany) with each brother running one division.

The ALDI brand has since expanded to over 20 countries with over 11,000 stores. ALDI Süd operates all ALDI stores in the US while ALDI Nord owns Trader Joe’s. ALDI stores are increasingly found in America as well as the UK due to an aggressive expansion.

So Lacura razor blades are easily found at these stores. The question is…are these triple-blade razors worth your time and money? Let’s go into more detail.

ALDI Lacura Razor Features

ALDI Lacura Razor Blades Review
The Lacura Triple Head razor has 3 stainless steel blades on a pivoting head, lubricating strip at the top and soft fins at the bottom for extra skin comfort. The handle is very comfortable too.
  • Triple blade razor with pivoting head to contour to your skin. The blades are removable so you take the old blade off and pop a new one on the reusable handle.
  • Aloe vera lubricating strip for post shave comfort.
  • Soft fins at the bottom of the razor for extra skin comfort.
  • Easy to hold comfortable handle.

ALDI Lacura razor blades are of course disposable. You’ll feel the blades beginning to dull after a number of shaves so it’ll depend on your personal usage. I use the blades on both my head and face so it’s expected mine won’t last as long as if you were just using them on your face for example.

The lubricating strip will wear out with increased usage as well, also an indicator that the blade should be replaced.

My ALDI Lacura Razor Experience

I had not shaved with a triple blade razor in some time. We spoke in the past how brand name razor companies like Gillette, Schick, etc have largely abandoned the single and twin blade markets to concentrate on the more lucrative 3+ blade sectors.

So it was a bit surprising for me to find an off-brand product like Lacura offering a triple blade option.

And a triple blade with the things you generally find on the more expensive brand name razors: pivoting head, lubricating strip, soft fins, comfort handle.

I decided to shave my head first with this brand new razor while in the shower. From the first few strokes, I do want to say that the feeling on my head was slightly different from the twin blade that I’ve been using for past number of months.

The Lacura razor seemed very smooth on my skin. I hadn’t shaved my head in two days and it cut through the hair no problem. I didn’t cut myself anywhere and when I was done, decided to use the razor on my face too.

Again, I found the razor to be solid. No friction and it easily went through my facial hair. I was able to sculpt my goatee and trim a bit of the thicker part off just to see how it handled it. It handled it just fine. Again, I didn’t cut myself.

All in, I have no complaints with the ALDI Lacura men’s triple blade razor. Considering it is much cheaper than comparable brand name triple blade razors, I’ll certainly look at buying this one again in the near future.
